Today Friday January 3rd it's "Chocolate Covered Cherry Day"!
Here are some ideas on how to celebrate this delicious festivity:
Casual: Have chocolate covered cherries for breakfast, or dessert.
Committed: Cook a meal for your whole family, ending it with a delicious chocolate covered cherry dessert.
Hard-Core: Make a "Chocolate Covered Cherry Party" where all your desserts must be cherries, chocolates, or chocolate covered cherries.
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 1 1/2 teaspoons sambal oelek (chili paste)
- 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1 lb boneless, skinless turkey thighs or breast, thinly sliced.
- 4 garlic cloves, minced.
- 2 medium, firm ripe pears, peeled, cored and sliced.
- 1 bunch green onions, cut into 1 inch pieces
- 2 tablespoons fresh, chopped cilantro
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup margarine or butter
- 1/4 cup condensed sweetened milk (not condensed)
- 4 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 package high end chocolate chips (milk, semi-sweet, or dark)
- 1 jar of maraschino cherries, drained and dried. (Save the juice)

Pear and Chicken Stir-Fry
Serves 4
INGREDIENTS
METHOD
1. Combine broth, soy sauce, cornstarch, sambal oelek and pepper in a small bowl or a cup measure; set aside.
2. Heat a large wok or frying pan over high heat. Add oil, turkey and garlic, and stir-fry for 5 to 7 minutes, or until turkey is browned and tender.
3. Add soy sauce mixture, pears, green onions and cilantro. Stir-fry for about 3 minutes, or until pears are hot or softened.
COLOR CHALLENGE
Today's Color Challenge is "Color Yourself Dreamy" by wearing something Winter Sky (light blue). Today, wear something Winter Sky, you will feel fresh, soft and dreamy. When someone compliments you about your delightful outfit, answer them "Thank you, I feel very dreamy".

Oh my God, i love this day... Is delicious. The idea of a "Chocolate Covered Cherry Party" is awesome, because, who don't like the Cherries, chocolates and parties?. Definitely I will try to do it with my friends and family, thanks for the idea Merry.

Merry, your recipe was delicious. I'm not a soy sauce fan but I tried to make the recipe and wow, the best experience with soy sauce that I ever had.
