An Oriental Story: A Short Story About Pak Choi
Pak Choi is a plant that was originated in the Orient. Because of its quick maturing properties, pak choi became very popular in the 19th century among the Chinese and the Japanese. In Europe, pak choi was not very popular, it was introduced there in the mid 18th century, and people didn't like it as much as the Chinese and Japanese. Pak choi comes from tiny seeds, this allowed the spread of it around the world. The seeds where easily carried from place to place, and because of this PAK choi spread to every nation. Before anyone knew it, PAK choi was available in Russia and America.
Pak choi looks like a lettuce, but it's not in the same group as lettuce. Pak choi belongs to the group where the broccoli, the cabbage and the turnips are. This vegetable is completely edible, containing many vitamins. Because of this, many people love pak choi. Many chefs around the world use Pak choi in recipes such as: Ginger sweet tofu with Pak choi, steamed bass with Pak choi, noodles, and more. Its unique and delicious flavor give dishes the right amount of vitamins. If you haven't tried Pak choi, you should give it a try!
