A Bittersweet Moment: A Short Story About Kiwi
Kiwi is a very well known fruit because of its bright color and fuzzy outsides. Its origins trace back to ancient China, where this sweet fruit was used as a delicious dessert. But, when introduced to New Zealand, the kiwi started to be cultivated in different ways, which made the many kinds of kiwis that are today. The Golden kiwi fruit, is had a smooth, bronze skin and and its colors vary from green to intense yellow. The kiwi berries, are composed of three species of kiwi fruit. They are fast growing, and they grow on vines, durable over their growing season.
The kiwi can be grown every month of the year, but its high point is during winter season. It has an incredible growth rate, they can produce several tons per hectare. A fun fact about kiwis, is that they are very hard to pollinate. Bees are hardly attracted to this plant, so many growers blow human-produced pollen over the kiwis in order for them to bloom.
The kiwi’s bitter-sweet flavor has made it a very popular fruit among chefs. They use it in famous desserts such as cakes, cookies, pies and more. It has become a very popular fruit now a days, and it will definitely continue to be popular in the future.
